Rolo's first day at university 😅 👩‍🏫

🐰 Easter Bunnies 🌸

Here is how we made our bunnies 👇

I came across this lesson on the @supersimpleofficial website 🥰

1️⃣ ✏️ I followed the steps from the website and drew out my own template, which I photocopied for everyone.

You could have students do this themselves but I wanted to save time. *Make sure to give the bottom of the bunny an angled base so it will stand.

2️⃣ 🎨 They painted their templates exploring with colours and textures (sponges, brushes, earbuds, forks)

3️⃣ ✂️ They cut out their templates and added pink to the ears and pink/black to the nose

4️⃣ 🐇 They assembled their bunny by gluing the parts together, adding googly eyes and some details with permanent marker

5️⃣ ☁️ Lastly they added a fluffy cotton ball tail

🐰The remainder of this week and next week are perfect for exploring the theme of 'An Cháisc' with your class.

☝️ This activity is a lovely way to kick off the theme 🤩

You could do this as either a pre-topic assessment or as an activity in itself.

In groups, give students a blank page and ask them to brainstorm all the foclóir Gaeilge they already know around the theme of An Cháisc (assessment) or the foclóir they can think of, using dictionaries as a reference tool.

Once the brainstorm is complete, they use an online tool to input their foclóir and create some word art. There are lots of websites that do this, but WordArt.com is my favourite as it's easy to use and students can also add their own shapes/images to use (such as the chick, basket, etc as seen in photos).

These can be printed and displayed or stuck into pupil copies. The foclóir will give you a great starting point for the rest of the theme! 🐰

The last one got me, because while I say donn (down), bonn (brown) and fonn (fown) in a rhyming way - I pronounce tonn (ton), so it threw me off completely 😂

2. Hold the shamrock shape in the center of a piece of paper (and keep it there)

☘️ St Patrick's Day art lesson for senior classes 🇮🇪

I found the tutorial for this on the @tracie_kiernan_art website stepbtsteppainting.net 🤩 and adjusted it slightly to suit my class.

We focused on painting skills primarily such as creating texture, shadow, and colour mixing. This was a nice challenge and different lens through which to explore this project.

They turned out really well and the students were delighted with the finished piece.

We focused on painting skills primarily such as creating texture, shadow, and colour mixing. This was a nice challenge and different lens through which to explore this project.

They turned out really well and the students were delighted with the finished piece.

This is a mish-mash of two different art lessons I came across which I combined. I loved the paint-resist stars technique and it turned out so well 🤩

1️⃣ Draw the outline of hat and rainbow lines

2️⃣ Add star stickers

3️⃣ Paint the background in a light green

4️⃣ Paint the rainbow colours

5️⃣ Paint the hat black

6️⃣ Leave to fully dry

7️⃣ Remove stars (peel each 'arm' of each star inwards and then remove gently from centre - we found using rulers helpful for peeling!)

8️⃣ Outline with permanent marker

9️⃣ Add details to the hat and shamrocks to background using oil pastels

TA-DA ✨
