I am so excited to be running an online Summer Course this year with Mayo Education Centre. It is an online pre-recorded course that you can navigate through in your own time and at your own pace. The course is open from July 1st to August 20th, and can be completed at any point within that timeframe.

The course titled 'Gaeilge le Spraoi' will focus on the use of games to support Gaeilge with an in-depth look at planning for games (in line with the PLC), setting game objectives and creating your own classroom games based on pupil needs.

Over 5 modules participants will be enabled to plan and create a variety of card games, board games, physical games and oral language games for their pupils. Participants will come away with a 'go-to' bank of games to support them teaching Gaeilge in their future classrooms.

Each module will also place a focus on the integration of ICT with Gaeilge giving participants the opportunity to explore ideas for the incorporation of ICT devices and digital resources into their Gaeilge lessons.

Module assignments will take a hands on and practical approach giving participants the opportunity to put their new learning into practice and come away with some games already prepared for their classroom in September.

Along with being course author, I will also be tutoring this course so I will be on hand to assist and support you throughout! The course has been approved by the Department of Education for EPV allocation.
